Position Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled Lead Auto Mechanic to take charge of diagnostics, repairs, and shop workflow. This is not an entry-level role — we need someone who can think, lead, and solve problems fast.

You will be responsible for diagnosing complex issues, supporting other technicians, and ensuring vehicles are repaired correctly the first time.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform advanced diagnostics on a wide range of vehicles (domestic & import)
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues accurately and efficiently
• Lead and assist technicians with difficult repairs and problem vehicles
• Oversee workflow and ensure jobs are completed on time
• Maintain high-quality repair standards and minimize comebacks
• Communicate clearly with service advisors and management
• Inspect completed work for accuracy and safety
• Stay current with modern automotive technology and repair procedures

Required Skills & Abilities

• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting ability (engine, transmission, electrical, drivability issues)
• Ability to use scan tools, diagnostic software, and wiring diagrams confidently
• Deep understanding of automotive systems (fuel, ignition, emissions, suspension, etc.)
• Ability to identify root causes — not just replace parts
• Leadership mindset — able to guide and train other technicians
• Strong time management and organization
• Ability to handle high-pressure situations and keep the shop moving
• Excellent attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional automotive repair experience
• ASE Certifications (preferred but not required)
• Experience as a lead tech or shop foreman
• Experience with used vehicle reconditioning (a plus)
• Valid driver’s license
