Job Description

Product Engineer – Valve & Pressure Control Systems

Oklahoma City, OK | On-site | Full-time
$85,000–$100,000 (DOE)

Why This Role?

Join a stable, engineering-driven manufacturer where your work directly impacts critical valve and pressure-control products used in oil & gas and refinery applications. This is a hands-on, collaborative role ideal for a Product or Applications Engineer who wants ownership, visibility, and long-term growth—not a siloed desk job.

What You’ll Do

As a Product Engineer, you’ll support the full product lifecycle—from customer application review through design support and manufacturing—working closely with sales, manufacturing, and quality teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the technical liaison for sales and customer service, providing valve selection, sizing, and material recommendations.
  • Size and specify valves in accordance with API 520 and ANSI/ISA S75.01 flow calculation standards.
  • Prepare cut sheets and technical submittals, including assembly drawings, dimensions, BOMs, and application-specific data.
  • Execute Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) for product and design modifications.
  • Create and maintain accurate Bills of Material using an ERP/MRP system.
  • Support sustaining engineering, troubleshooting, and continuous product improvements.
  • Provide engineering support to manufacturing, supply chain, and quality, including component prints and material specifications.
  • Develop and maintain part numbering systems, nomenclature, and build/test procedures.
  • Deliver internal training on assigned product lines.
  • Contribute as an engaged, proactive member of a collaborative engineering team.

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
  • 2–4 years of experience supporting mechanical or electromechanical products in oil & gas, refinery, or process industries.
  • Experience with one or more of the following:
    • Safety Relief Valves
    • Rupture or Buckling Pin Devices
    • Control / Dump Valves
    • Regulators or Chokes
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and ERP/MRP systems.
  • Strong communication skills and comfort working cross-functionally.
  • Must be local to Oklahoma City (onsite role).

Preferred (Nice to Have)

  • Working knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards:
    • ASME Sections I–XII
    • API 520 / 6A / 6D / 608
    • ANSI/ISA S75.01
    • ASME B16.5 / B16.34 / B16.47
    • Q1 / ISO, NACE MR0175
  • Understanding of metallurgy and/or welding processes.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary aligned with experience
  • Stable, established product lines with real-world impact
  • Collaborative engineering environment with direct access to manufacturing
  • Long-term career growth in a specialized, in-demand industry
