Job Description

Krenz & Company, Inc., is seeking a Level 2 Engineer to work at our Germantown, WI (W132N10940 Eisenhower Drive) headquarters. The Level 2 Engineer must be involved in: Engineering: New Product Development / Improvement: o Use best Engineering practices to design, prototype, and test new or redesigned transformer cooling fans and accessories. o Follow proper documentation procedures per our Engineering manual. o Follow new product from creation to final implementation completing all necessary steps along the way including integration into existing manufacturing equipment. Manufacturing: o Design, prototype, test, and implement new fixtures for existing manufacturing equipment. o Perform programming on new and existing computer numerically controlled equipment utilizing G-Code programming, PLC ladder logic, Numalliance programming language, and microprocessor control. o Be the first level of diagnosis on all machinery in plant. Must be able to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical aspects of existing machinery to repair or assist in plant maintenance and/or external contractors in the repair of machinery. o Understanding of both mig welding and resistance welding processes. o Must have a working knowledge of CNC machining equipment, CNC wire forming machines, and CNC resistance welding equipment. o Design, build, test, and troubleshoot electrical controls for new or existing equipment. Quality assurance: o Maintain and update our existing ISO 9001 quality manual in addition to being our lead contact for ISO audits. o Generate corrective and/or preventative actions per Management or Customer input. o Must be able to write and deliver corrective actions to Vendors. o Must be able to write manufacturing task specific work instructions. o Must be able to train and certify operators per written work instructions and/or corrective or preventative actions. o Calibrate existing equipment and maintain calibration log. Have a working knowledge of fractional HP AC electric motors. Perform laboratory testing per our existing Engineering manual and practices, including life testing, fatigue testing, and electrical testing of our products. Assist customers in product support and troubleshooting field issues of transformer cooling fans. Design electrical controls for the proper operation of transformer cooling fans. Must be mechanically inclined with the ability to troubleshoot, disassemble, repair, and re-assemble manufacturing equipment. Assist production on process and product concerns. Communicate with shop supervisor and equipment operators to identify and correct product, process and equipment issues. Ability to clearly and professionally communicate with customers, vendors, and contractors. Ability to read and understand customer specifications, standards, and drawings. Review customer specifications and provide quotations and drawings of products that meet customer requirements. Other Tasks and Responsibilities: Work directly with UL auditors during routine inspections. Adding new electrical motor nameplate information to our nameplate program. Generating custom test certificates per customer requirements. Maintain OSHA log; file yearly with OSHA. Able to safely operate stand up forklifts and scissor lifts. Qualified applicants must have a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field and at least 5 years of Mechanical Engineering experience. As part of the 5 years of Mechanical Engineering experience, the individual must have: 5 years of experience with ISO 9001 quality procedures. 5 years of experience working in a Manufacturing facility. 5 years of experience utilizing SAP for creation, updating, and maintaining bill of materials as well as inventory evaluation. 5 years of experience utilizing AutoCAD LT and Solidworks and utilizing both types of software without needing verification on drawings. 5 years of experience with 3D printing. 5 years of experience with fabrication, milling machines, CNC equipment, drills, hand tools, and welders. The individual must also have completed 10-Hour OSHA Outreach for General Industry Course and must have completed ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor Training Course.
