Senior R&D Engineer

Atraverse Medical, Inc. seeks Senior R&D Engineers (Multiple Openings) in Solana Beach, CA. Must have Bach degree in Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Bio Engineering, or related engineering discipline. 5 years of product development experience at a medical device company, including specific experience with: (1) electronic component sourcing or manufacturing w/in the medical device industry; (2) w/ disposable medical device assembly processing and rapid prototyping; (3) identifying and evaluating int'l suppliers in China for high volume, cost-sensitive medical device components; (4) developing designs and conducting testing through a phase-gate analysis (Concept, Feasibility, Verification) using a risk-based approach; (5) conducting technical supplier audits, process validations, and DFM/DFT reviews for complex electro-mechanical components. Proficiency in SolidWorks with strong emphasis on design development for medical devices. Knowledge of Design Controls, Verification, Validation and Design Transfer; design for plastics injection-mold fabrication processes; sterilization processing; PCBA design, fabrication, and assembly processes, including familiarity with PC, ISO 13485, FDA, and QSR requirements. Ability to translate first-principles science/ engineering to understanding to Design of Experiments; interpret/present data; conduct advanced statistical analysis; and write technical reports. Travel required to China at least twice a year to supplier sites for technical engagement, auditing, and relationship building. Remote/hybrid work benefit available. Salary: $145,642-$185,000.
