Commercial HVAC Service Technician

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Commercial HVAC Service Technician to join our team. This role is ideal for a technician who takes pride in delivering high-quality service, communicates clearly with customers, and thrives in a fast-paced commercial/industrial environment. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of HVAC/R systems commonly found in large facilities, ensuring reliability, safety, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on commercial and industrial HVAC/R equipment.
- Complete scheduled preventative maintenance tasks according to company standards and customer contracts.
- Document all work performed, including findings, recommendations, parts used, and equipment condition.
- Communicate clearly with customers, facility personnel, and internal teams regarding job status and recommendations.
- Respond to service calls during normal business hours and participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and company procedures.
- Identify opportunities for system improvements, energy savings, or additional service needs.
- Maintain company tools, vehicles, and equipment in clean and safe working condition.
- Collaborate with dispatch, service managers, and project teams to ensure efficient workflow and customer satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
- Experience servicing commercial or industrial HVAC/R systems.
- Strong knowledge of rooftop units, air handlers, VAV systems, boilers, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, and related equipment.
- EPA 608 Certification (Universal preferred).
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools, gauges, meters, and refrigerant handling procedures.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Strong communication, customer service, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with building automation systems (BAS/BMS).
- Factory training or certifications from major manufacturers (e.g., Trane, Carrier, Daikin, York).
- Experience with hydronics, refrigeration systems, or industrial ventilation.
- Knowledge of commercial service software platforms.
