JOB SUMMARY

As Sacramento State’s non-profit business auxiliary, University Enterprises, Inc. (UEI) creates and manages programs and services that enhance the University’s educational mission. The Sponsored Programs Administration (SPA) office through its Post-Award Administration team supports the research and sponsored activity efforts of Sacramento State faculty and staff through the administration of grants and contracts funded by the federal and state government as well as private foundations and other organizations. The Compliance & Grants Analyst I (Analyst) position provides comprehensive financial, analytical, and oversight support for a diverse portfolio of grant and contract funded research project’s account activities for the SPA department.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • 10% - Account coordination and implementation
  • 70% - Post-Award, Contracts and Grants Administration
  • 10% - Account close-out 
  • 10% - Other Duties as Assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, organizational/business communications studies, public administration, or related area or equivalent combination of education and/or work experience.
  2. Financial record-keeping, project, and budget management experience including knowledge of financial record-keeping methods, procedures, and practices; expenditure processes, approvals; and audit oversight.
  3. Strong critical thinking and action-oriented problem-solving skills to analyze complex and ambiguous information, identify patterns, question assumptions, and make well-informed decisions.
  4. Ability to work independently with only general supervision and in a team environment.
  5. Excellent interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written) to effectively, timely, and diplomatically interact with individuals of varying ages, cultural backgrounds, and perspectives.
  6. Ability to exercise good judgment, maintain confidentiality, operate with integrity, and foster trust.
  7. Thorough knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and email software such as the programs in the Microsoft Office Suite.
  8. Must be fingerprinted and pass a background check. Must continue to meet the established standards.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Knowledge of governmental regulations pertaining to grants and contracts including the Office of Management and Budget's (OMB) Uniform Guidance (UG) and federal agency regulations.
  2. Prior work in higher education and/or sponsored programs environment or similarly regulated industries.

 

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

This is a full-time, non-exempt (eligible for overtime pay), benefited position that is covered under the California Public Employees’ Retirement System. Continued employment in this position is dependent upon the mutual consent of University Enterprises and the employee, and either University Enterprises or the employee can, at any time, terminate the employment relationship at will, with or without cause.

 

The selected candidate must furnish proof of eligibility to work in the United States. University Enterprises, Inc. is not a sponsoring agency (i.e. H-1B Visa).
