Job Description

Curby’s Lawn & Garden | Kansas City

The Opportunity: Stop Prospecting. Start Closing.

Curby’s Lawn & Garden is a well-respected, locally-owned firm with an established reputation and a massive referral network. While other designers are spending their time cold-calling or "hunting" for work, our team is busy closing. We have developed a deep network of custom builders and residential clients that produces a massive quantity of high-quality leads. We are looking for an assertive, high-energy Design-Sales Professional to step into this high-volume pipeline and take over 10–15 active consultations at a time.

Why Top KC Designers are Joining Curby’s:

  • Guaranteed Lead Flow: We provide the appointments. You spend your time in front of clients and behind the design software, not knocking on doors.
  • $100k+ Real-World Potential: With our lead volume and your closing skills, $100k is the baseline. Our top performers thrive in our uncapped commission structure.
  • Established Reputation: Leverage Curby’s long-standing local brand to close deals faster and at higher margins.
  • Full Production Support: You design it—our veteran crews build it. We have the back-office staff to handle the logistics so you can stay focused on the next sale.

The Role: Consult, Design, Close

We are looking for a "Closer"—someone who can manage the fast-paced nature of the KC peak season without breaking a sweat.

  • High-Volume Management: Successfully navigate 10–15 active client projects simultaneously.
  • Design Excellence: Use Pro Landscape (or similar) to create functional, beautiful outdoor living spaces, hardscapes, and drainage solutions.
  • Assertive Sales: Move clients through the funnel quickly, from initial consultation to signed contract.
  • Execution: Partner with our crews to ensure the final build matches your vision.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 3–5 Years Experience: Proven track record in KC residential landscape design and sales.
  • Local Expertise: Deep knowledge of Kansas City (Zone 6) plant material and our notorious clay soils.
  • Technical Chops: Proficiency in Pro Landscape or industry-standard design software.
  • Portfolio: Demonstrated success selling Retaining Walls, Drainage Solutions, Outdoor Lighting, and high-end Hardscapes.
  • Requirements: Assertive communicator, valid driver’s license, and ability to pass a DOT physical/background check.

The Commitment:

During our peak seasons (Spring, Summer, Fall), this role requires a "whatever it takes" attitude, including working evenings and weekends as needed to meet our high client demand.
