Salary is based on experience and is open to negotiation.

 

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

An Estimating Assistant works with the Estimator developing estimates and bids for construction projects along with completing take-offs to gather information for bids. The duties include but not limited to reading plans and specifications, understanding, and navigating building codes. An estimating assistant also reviews sites and gathers information for estimates for work on existing buildings.

Key Responsibilities are and not limited to assisting the Estimator to:

  • Prepare bids and cost estimates that address every part/division of a project.
  • Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, material, and labor estimate.
  • Manage of identifying the scope of work for each subcontractor.
  • Manage communication with Ritz Construction subcontractors and vendors to obtain bids.
  • Complete analysis of subcontractor quotes per the construction documents and the established scope of work.
  • Ensure accuracy of all cost estimates submitted by a contractor.
  • Generate a complete scope of general conditions as need for the scope of work for a project.
  • Provide estimation of labor, material and equipment needed for a project.
  • Re-figure cost estimates when necessary, for addendum and or changes.

Requirements:

  • Government Construction experience preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Familiarity with Project Management systems such as Foundation, CPM Scheduling.
  • Excellent planning and time management skills.
  • Excellent leadership abilities.
  • Organizational and attention to detail

  • In-depth understanding of construction procedures, and material and project management principles.
  • Familiarity with quality standards, and health and safety requirements.
  • Hands on experience with complex data research activities
