QUALITY ASSURANCE TECHNICIAN A Quality Technician actively participates as part of the quality team to ensure products meet customers’ expectations and internal requirements by identifying and communicating issues for timely resolution, as well as measuring and documenting quality records. Key Responsibilities: • Accurately measures machined/assembled components using various metrology equipment and techniques to complete all required documentation. • Performs First Piece Inspection for production approval at start-up and coordinates with Set-up personnel to ensure FP parts meet specifications. • Performs Receiving, In-Process, SPC, and Final Inspection per requirements. • Effectively communicates quality issues to Production, Quality, Engineering, and Management (as necessary). • Monitors SPC workstations and data to communicate issues to Quality, Engineering, and Production. • Participates in Process Capability Studies and GR&R activities as necessary • Initiates RCA (Rejection and Corrective Action) and/or other containment activities as necessary. • Participates in continuous improvement activities as part of 2-Second Lean initiatives. • Performs additional dimensional studies as directed by Quality Manager or Quality Engineer. • Assists in training Production Personnel on metrology techniques as necessary. • Evaluates defects and determines product disposition (e.g. Sort, Hold, Use-As-Is, rework). May assist is developing rework methods including associated time studies. • May assist in developing documentation as needed. • May perform internal audits including dock audits, process audits, product audits, and layer audits. Education and/or Experience: • High school diploma or equivalent • 1-3 years in a manufacturing environment or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience (Quality experience is a plus) • ASQ Certification is a plus (Certified Mechanical Inspector or Certified Quality Technician) Knowledge and/or Skills: • Clearly and effectively communicates in English (verbal and written) with internal team and external contacts • Works well independently (self-motivated), as well as in a team environment • Must be detail oriented and capable of multi-tasking • Must possess strong math skills and the ability to apply problem solving techniques • Reads and understands blueprints and GD&T applications. • Is knowledgeable of QMS programs and procedures (IATF 16949 is a plus) • Has experience using various hand-held inspection tools and automated inspection systems such as OGP, CMM, etc... • Displays proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general compute
