Summary/Objective
The SR. Project Manager plans, directs, coordinates, and budgets for activities associated with the construction of civil and underground utilities projects. The PM participates in the conceptual development of a construction project estimate and then oversees the management, scheduling and implementation of the work. This position provides hands-on construction management experience supporting field construction activities tied to civil engineering and infrastructure projects such as earthwork, concrete, deep foundations, underground utilities, etc.
Project Management Goals/Expectations
Maintain job profitability as bid or better while frequently reporting to executive team any and all significant variance to job costs or project related issues. The Project Manager is the Point of Contact for all functions with the project unless clearly delegated by written directive.
Basic Requirements:
1. Strictly adhere to and promote at all levels onsite safety processes.
2. Maintain or produce greater gross profit margins than budgeted.
3. Strictly adhere to contractual scope and perform additional work only upon written customer change order authorization.
Essential Functions

1. Work with Superintendents, and Foremen, Field Engineers, to plan, organize and direct daily activities concerned with underground utilities, environmental, remediation, civil earthwork, concrete and sitework construction projects.
2. Ensure that all pre-planning is done and documented prior to actual field work starting:
a. Complete estimate sanitization; accounting system Import and B2W operational suite upload prior to job pre-con meetings.
b. Ensure JHA & work plans are completed with safety department and with Superintendent/Foreman involvement.
c. Coordinate with the Director of Operations to establish pre-planning and pre-con meetings.
d. Submittal procurement from all vendors and suppliers.
e. Attend preconstruction meetings with GC/Owner and City entities.
f. Schedule and plan with Superintendent all operations for the first two weeks of the project.
g. Execute subcontractor agreements using standard company templates with approved subs and vendors associated with contract.
h. Prepare and submit Schedule of Values to client.
i. Prepare and procure required work plans and necessary construction related permits.
j. Carefully evaluate all supplier / vendor quotes for possible cost savings.
k. Review and approve contract scope and cost values.
l. Coordinate / prepare all bonding documents and submit to surety / client.
3. Manage project construction and coordination from initiation through to closure for multiple construction projects. Direct execution of all aspects of projects, including pre-bid meetings, proposal preparations, project start-up, contract management, change order management, resource loading, project cost controls, material buy-out, subcontractor management, and cash flow management.
4. Establish and follow-up on project documentation control per company standards, including but not limited to:
a. Accident/incident reports, subsurface utility locate tickets, toolbox talks, etc. (Super/FM)
b. Update as-builts weekly (FM)
c. Compaction test reports (FM)
d. Survey cut sheets (PM)
e. Inspection signoffs (FM)
f. Project closeout checklist (Super/FM)
5. Project scheduling/Gantt via Microsoft Project
a. PM/Superintendent. Prepare and update a three-week schedule for all projects they are administering on a weekly basis.
18. Daily Monitoring:
a. B2W quality, costs, quantities, notes and pictures.
b. Inform FM/Superintendent of significant budget overages or quality issues.
20. Lead implementation of best practices in operations to ensure consistency of services being delivered from site to site and project to project. Oversee QA/QC program for all assigned projects.
21. Identify, select and monitor the work of subcontractors.

Description of physical working environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is performed in outside weather conditions

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 40+ hours per week.
Travel
Minimal travel. May travel to trade shows and construction jobsites.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; or three to five years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
4-year degree required, Construction Management, Construction Science, Civil Engineering, or similar degree highly preferred.
