Position Summary:
Successful Quality Technicians enjoy the challenges of ensuring the highest quality products are produced and shipped according to customer specifications. Quality Technicians support production by advocating quality standards, maintaining quality tools, completing standardized checks and scheduled studies, documenting, analyzing, and reporting the results, raising awareness regarding quality-related issues and assisting in troubleshooting issues.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Inspect select incoming goods
- Audit internal quality/other processes in Compound, Extrusion, Fabrication, and Logistics departments against an established set of standards
- Test, analyze, and report on raw material and finished product capability, when assigned
- Monitor Lab and Quality Station equipment condition and documented calibrations daily
- Conduct calibration verification, when needed
- Correctly and accurately measure critical dimensions and assess aesthetic quality of product, when needed
- Recognize all profile quality defects and escalate appropriately
- Perform dimensional and capability studies, when assigned
- Create, replace, and maintain condition of color standards per defined process
- Accurately compare color and pattern of products to quality control standards
- Update Color Ellipses, when needed
- Accurately identify information on production documents
- Raise awareness of quality (good and bad) with the Production/Fab Teams; includes communications one-on-one and/or during meetings
- Confidently take action to place subpar material on-hold, follow the Hold Process, monitor and escalate unprocessed material in Hold Area
- When necessary, assist in the inspection and sorting of material
- Navigate, generate, and interpret reports from IQMS Quality module
- Enter, add, modify, and maintain SPC inspection parameters
- Monitor the schedule to communicate profiles in active containment and review containment retain samples for adequate quality
- Participate in continuous improvement projects/events and problem-solving sessions
- Observe safety and security procedures and report potentially unsafe conditions
- Maintain a clean orderly work environment
- Actively participate in shift exchange by giving & receiving critical information
- Ability to operate the following equipment in the production area: Miter saw, automatic pallet wrapper, heat shrink unit, and electric and/or manual pallet strapping, pallet jack

Qualifications

- GED or High School Diploma
- 1 - 3 years experience in working in a Quality role
- Manufacturing experience preferred
