Position Overview
We are seeking a licensed Physical Therapist in Knoxville, TN to provide exceptional outpatient physical therapy services. This position involves evaluating, planning, and implementing individualized treatment programs for patients referred by physicians. The therapist will also provide leadership and support to assistants and administrative staff when the Lead Physical Therapist is unavailable.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for both experienced therapists and new graduates — mentoring and professional support are available.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive evaluations and design individualized treatment plans.
- Provide direct patient care and adjust care plans to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Collaborate with case managers, respiratory therapists, and authorization specialists.
- Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants and front office staff in the absence of the Lead PT.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all patient interactions and progress.
- Uphold all safety, infection control, and quality improvement standards.
- Participate in ongoing professional development, education, and community outreach.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an APTA- or CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapy program.
- Current TN Physical Therapy License (or eligibility to obtain).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association.
- Outpatient experience preferred, though mentoring is available.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, lifting, and transferring of patients.
- Requires bending, kneeling, stooping, and other physical activities associated with patient care.
