Service Mechanic 2 - St. Louis, MO

OATS Transit is hiring a Service Mechanic 1 for one of our regional offices. The mechanic is an integral part of OATS Transit operations keeping our vehicles running smoothly throughout a set region. We provide safe and reliable transportation to all and that is where you can shine at OATS Transit. This position calls for initiative, sound judgment, attention to detail and accuracy.

As an OATS Transit auto mechanic you will:

• Comply with federal, state, local and OATS Transit vehicle rules and regulations.
• Have the ability to work independently while also having experience working well in a team environment.
• Knowledge of and adherence to safety and environmental standards for repair facilities.
• Complete required paperwork and work orders.
• Basic knowledge of oil changes, tire mounting and rotations and doing preventative maintenance checklists.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Must have a Commercial Driver’s License CDL with no more than four points assessed.
• Experience using shop equipment such as lifts and diagnostic equipment.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as an automotive technician.
• Must take and pass drug screening, and undergo random drug and alcohol testing.
• High School diploma or equivalent. Technical degree a plus.
• Must be a minimum of 23 years of age.
• Must be bondable.
• Have a proactive, helpful, can do attitude with the flexibility to adjust to different schedules.
