STS, a USDA-registered research facility with an AAALAC-accredited animal care and use program, is engaging licensed veterinarians to provide on-site veterinary support for animal use under an IACUC-approved protocol. You will direct anesthesia, analgesia, and euthanasia, safeguard animal welfare, and manage controlled substances under your own DEA registration, consistent with the Animal Welfare Act and the AVMA Guidelines for the Euthanasia of Animals. Veterinarians of all backgrounds are welcome to apply. You will receive on-the-job familiarization during each course and work alongside an experienced team, so prior experience in this setting is not required. Day rate: $1,500 per day Per authorized on-site day of veterinary support. Medication fee: 100% reimbursement plus 10% handling For medications requested for the engagement.
