Cleveland Utilities Authority , a municipal utility providing electric, water, wastewater and fiber services to the Cleveland, Tennessee/Bradley County area, is seeking a Fiber Network Engineer. This position will serve as the principal technical representative to our customers in the design, implementation, maintenance and support of their carrier network.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Perform installation, configuration, and support of customer’s Central Office network devices, systems, and related equipment.
Responsible for the daily performance and availability of the network with an emphasis on 5x9’s availability.
Resolve all Tier 1 and Tier 2 escalations in a Carrier Network environment.
Develop and follow detailed MOP’s/SOP’s related to the deployment and maintenance of equipment to ensure interoperability and network availability.
Provide customer oversight related to network upgrades, capacity planning and life-cycle management.
