BRIEF DESCRIPTION: The Community Wellness and Outreach Coordinator play an essential role in Eddy County's efforts to combat alcohol-related issues by planning, developing, and implementing a variety of targeted program activities. The primary focus of these initiatives is to prevent the incidence of Driving While Impaired (DWI) offenses, binge drinking, underage drinking, and other types of alcohol-related harm within the community. A key component of this position involves facilitating the Carlsbad DWI School, a structured program designed to educate individuals regarding the dangers of impaired driving and to promote responsible behaviors; as well as overseeing and facilitating the DWISE Victim Impact Program, which offers insights into the ramifications of impaired driving through narratives from those affected by DWI incidents.
