FIRE LIEUTENANT - STARTING PAY: $24.35 - $26.87 PER HOUR DOE Department: Fire & Rescue Location: Carlsbad, NM BRIEF DESCRIPTION: The shift Lieutenant shall be a sworn firefighting position. Upon acceptance of this position, the selected applicant shall pass an NFPA 1583 medical screening physical. The shift Lieutenant will be subject to annual physical fitness assessments and NFPA 1583 medical screening physicals. The Shift Lieutenant shall be responsible for commanding emergency operations, including but not limited to assuming leadership on fire scenes, directing firefighting tactics, assigning tasks to crew members, and making rapid decisions to ensure the safety of all involved.
