Summary
Under the general supervision of the Director of Engineering, the GIS-CAD Systems Coordinator shall perform duties such as: updating and creating maps, design drawings, create, maintain and update GIS databases, and GIS applications using geographic information systems (GIS), SAGIS, and computer aided design (AUTOCAD) technology; conducting research; reading and/or interpreting maps, blueprints, survey documents or sketches; proofing or comparing the information contained on maps/drawings with information from different sources; surveying utility paving and drainage design, measure distances, areas, perimeters, and angles; and uses computer applications to enter, query, use, update and store information. Performs a wide variety of mapping, design, and engineering support activities. The Coordinator shall also attend SAGIS board meetings and work with the SAGIS team on updates to our system.
