Position Summary The primary function of an employee in this class is to perform technical engineering work in the general planning, design, construction, maintenance and repair of city utilities and transportation infrastructure. Project duties may include planning, budget development, environmental work, design, right-of-way actions, public involvement, project bidding, construction oversight and project closure; reading, reviewing, and approving plans from development applicants and/or consulting engineers to verify designs are in accordance with City codes, standards, and specifications. Engineering work will also include oversight of public works construction and acting as a technical resource for the public works staff. This position includes a combination of office and field-related duties.
