Job Description Job Description Job Title: Teak Preservation Assistant Job description: Primary responsibilities: Responsible for working with teak wood and replacing the teak deck on the ship; must possess the skills to perform, rough, and finished maintenance carpentry and maintaining, erecting, and repairing structural and decking woodwork and wooden articles; and making and repairing counters, doors, partitions, framework, etc. Primary duties: Assists in the fabricates, assembles, installs, and/or repairs wooden furnishings in ships or boats Reads blueprints to determine dimensions of furnishings in ships or boats. Assists in the manufacture of shapes and laminates wood to form parts of ship, using, clamps, glue, and jigs. Repairs structural woodwork and replaces defective parts and equipment, using hand tools and power tools.
