Position Summary

The Licensed Barber, Master Barber and Cosmetologist provides professional grooming services to service members, civilians, and visitors at the Columbus Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) installation. This role requires precision, professionalism, and strict adherence to Ohio Board of Cosmetology and Barber Board regulations as well as military grooming standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform military regulation haircuts for men and women, standard haircuts, beard and mustache trims, and basic styling on all hair textures.
• Perform regular haircuts, styles to men and women civilian customers within the scope of your license
• Provide hot towel shaves, shampoo and conditioning services, and blow-dry styling.
• Deliver shaving and facial grooming services within the scope of barber licensure.
• Maintain sanitation, disinfection, and safety standards in accordance with Ohio Board for Barbers and Cosmetology regulations.
• Greet clients and conduct consultations to understand grooming needs while providing exceptional customer service.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and workstations in proper working condition and follow infection control procedures.
• Follow barbershop opening and closing procedures and report any incidents in accordance with contract requirements.
• Uphold military grooming regulations and company policies at all times.
• Participate in required continuing education and compliance training.

Qualifications:

• Current Ohio Barber, Master Barber, and Cosmetology License in good standing
• (License transfer/endorsement from another state may be accepted. Employer may assist with transfer costs.)
• Knowledge of and compliance with Ohio Board of Cosmetology and Barber Board rules and standards of practice.
• Minimum 1–2 years of professional barbering experience preferred.
• Ability to work on all textures of hair for men and women
• Ability to perform regulation-ready haircuts efficiently and accurately.
• Bonus* Ability to perform hair cuts on children
• Ability to perform hot towel shaves (barbers).
• Strong interpersonal skills and a professional, customer-first attitude.
• Must be punctual, reliable, and dependable.
• Must be able to pass base access requirements to work on a military installation.

PT Schedule

• Monday – Friday: 0800 – 1500, broken into 2 shifts
• One Saturday per month rotation
• No Sundays or federal holidays
• Rotating Fridays every two weeks
• Part-time position
• You can work other jobs or at other places while working for us

Compensation & Benefits

• Sliding scale hourly pay
• Guaranteed hourly pay — if you come to work, you are guaranteed to get paid
• Keep 100% of your tips
• Sliding scale on commission on retail sales
• Direct deposit every 2 weeks

• All supplies, products and equipment provided (just bring your tools of the trade), there will be a set of tools of the trade available for use at anytime
