Director of Music

Christ Lutheran Church, Sharon, PA is seeking a part time Director of Music.  The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience in organ and/or piano and have the skills and leadership abilities necessary to direct both a vocal choir and a bell choir.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide organ & piano music for worship services and other special events.
• Direct the vocal choir in rehearsals and performances, ensuring high-quality choral music.
• Lead the bell choir, including rehearsals, performances, and providing guidance to bell ringers of varying skill levels.
• Collaborate with the pastoral staff to select appropriate music for worship services.
• Foster an environment of musical growth and community engagement within the music ministry.

Qualifications:

• Extensive experience playing the organ with proficiency in a variety of musical styles.
• Demonstrated ability to direct choirs, including vocal and bell choirs.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and work with volunteers.
• A solid understanding of sacred music and its role in worship.
• Prior experience in a church or other musical ministry setting is preferred.
• Availability for regular weekly rehearsals and Sunday services.

Hours & Compensation:

• This is a part-time position with flexible hours based on service schedule and rehearsals.
• Competitive salary, commensurate with experience.
