DIRECTOR OF R&D FOR SUSTAINABLE COATINGS TO Lead research and development of sustainable water-based and UV-curable coating systems for vinyl, PVC, and faux leather applications across automotive, marine, hospitality, mass transit and fashion industries. Design and test coating formulations to meet environmental and performance standards, utilizing advanced laboratory equipment such as QUV, Xenon, FT-IR & Spectrophotometer. Oversee lab-scale development, pilot batches, and production scale-up in collaboration with cross-functional teams. Provide technical guidance to lab and production staff. Serve as regulatory liaison for EU REACH, EPA, and Prop 65 compliance which requires staying current on regulatory changes domestically and internationally and leading research and development efforts to replace restricted chemicals in all products and systems as needed. Provide direction and technical expertise to domestic and international customers, including on-site support and testing, and coordinate with suppliers for product development. Maintain detailed documentation of testing, compliance, and product development activities aligned with company sustainability goals. Require: Master’s degree in Coatings Technology or a closely related field, with 1 year of experience in the job offered or a closely related occupation; Experience gained before or after earning the Master’s degree is acceptable; Occasional domestic and international travel for customer collaboration.
