Girls Softball Coach

Job Description

Roxbury Central School is seeking to 
fill the following spring coaching 
positions with stipends per the 
RTA contract:

  • Girls Varsity Softball
  • Girls JV Softball
  • Girls Modified Softball

A Girls Softball Coach is responsible for teaching fundamental and advanced softball skills while promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth. The coach plans and leads effective practices focused on hitting, pitching, catching, fielding, base running, and game strategy. They prepare athletes for competition by developing lineups, game plans, and situational awareness while providing constructive feedback to improve individual and team performance. The coach ensures a safe, positive, and inclusive environment that supports physical conditioning, skill development, and confidence building. Additional responsibilities include supervising athletes during practices, games, and travel; maintaining equipment and facilities; and communicating clearly with players, parents, and school administrators. The Girls Softball Coach serves as a positive role model, emphasizing discipline, accountability, and respect for teammates, opponents, and officials while fostering a strong work ethic and a lifelong appreciation for the sport.
