Ocean County Department of Juvenile Services is hiring full-time Juvenile Detention Officers. New Jersey Civil Service Code #05008 Job Description: Under general direction of a supervisory employee during a shift, controls the general conduct and behavior of juvenile residents, the maintenance of discipline, and custodial, recreational, transportation, and housekeeping functions; does other related duties as required. The Juvenile Detention Center is a 24/7/365 day facility. Officers work 8-hour shifts, which include day, evening, and/or overnight shifts, mandatory overtime as required, including weekends and statutory holidays. Graduation from high school, or GED equivalent. Applicants must be an Ocean County resident and a citizen of the United States.
