CIVIL SERVICE EXAMINATION FIREFIGHTER CITY OF NEW CASTLE, PA Applications are being accepted for the position of Firefighter with the City of New Castle, PA. An application form and details of the selection process may be obtained at the City of New Castle Building, 230 N. Jefferson Street, New Castle, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. REQUIREMENTS At the time of application, no applicant for any position in the Fire Department shall be less than eighteen (18) years of age. If hired, the new employee shall live no more than a radius of ten (10) miles from the Central Fire Station within six months after the completion of his or her probationary period. Part-time employees do not need to be a resident of the City of New Castle or live in the ten (10) mile radius.
