We are searching for a Comm, ISR, RADAR Systems Manager to join our exceptional team as part of RF & Photonics Technology. This is one of two groups within the department, one of the technology development organizations within the Advanced Technology Center (ATC). You will lead a group of approximately 12 experienced professional technologists, engineers, and scientists, most of whom hold an advanced degree in Aerospace, Electrical, or Communication System Engineering. This is a working manager role, spending about half of your time to provide direct program support. It will be important to demonstrate your ability to balance both technical and managerial tasks. Some of your day to day management responsibilities will include: Leading the program and ATC staffing requirements; Planning personnel job assignments and rotations and maintaining assignments within the Workforce Planning and Deployment tool; Identifying and opening requisitions, conducting personnel interviews, recommending hiring selections; tracking employee training needs, completions, and personnel and career development; Supporting IRAD investment strategy and strategic development of your discipline area; Holding weekly group meetings with your staff, and attending weekly department staff meetings with leadership, staff, and technical authorities; Approving time cards, travel expense reports, etc. Completing performance reviews and providing ongoing performance feedback, talent management planning, and career discussions with your direct reports; Providing inputs to weekly activity reports, technical summaries (verbal, charts) of programs and efforts under your purview; and Demonstrating Full Spectrum Leadership behaviors. You will report to the Senior Manager and will serve on a rotating basis as delegate for that person. You will be interacting regularly with counterparts in other Space Company Lines of Business (LOB) to assess LOB technology and staffing needs, to track employee performance, and to provide timely performance feedback to employees, and have demonstrated ability of efficient time management to reconcile the managerial and direct support tasks. We are seeking a leadership team member who shows a demonstrated desire and ability to interact productively and efficiently with engineers, scientists, customers, and management. We will look to you to cultivate a collaborative team environment. You will show strong interpersonal, communication, administrative, and presentation skills, including a talent for evaluating engineering personnel. You should be capable of regular domestic travel, and be located in, or willing to relocate to the Denver, CO Area. You may participate in design reviews (at the ATC and LOBs), independent review teams, problem investigation teams, organize, develop and maintain templates for reviews. oversee program execution; proposal technical development, costing, and review team support; organize and host a wide range of visitors (from LM, vendors, government, academia, local area), Small Business Liaison. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Communication System Engineering or related science discipline from an accredited college, or possess an equivalent combination of education and experience Minimum 10 years' technical background, including: o Architecture and design of RF/microwave and/or photonic communications and ISR systems o Design, manufacturing, and delivery of RF/microwave hardware systems, and/or photonic subsystems, packaging, and components o Familiarity with MS Project & Office o Laboratory Demonstrations and Technology Developments associated with the above o Experience pursuing and capturing new business from external government and non-government organizations o Experience planning and executing programs o Experience formulating, planning, and executing Independent Research and Development (IRAD) technology development projects US Citizen with the ability to obtain TS SCI SSBI US government security clearances Desired Skills: Possessing existing government clearances is preferred. Demonstrated ability to perform one or more of the following functions - University Relations, Business Development, IRAD Portfolio or Deputy Portfolio Manager, Demonstrated ability to lead a broad-based technical group and produce results by successfully prioritizing and balancing multiple assigned objectives and tasks. Collaborative approach with LOB/Program Managers and engineers to understand the needs and goals of LOB/programs and communicate those to ATC Management. Prior program leadership or management experience is desired. Experience in space hardware design, manufacture, and qualification testing for RF or photonic products is desired. RF subsystem subcontract technical procurement Working experience, published articles, and/or have a strong technical knowledge and understanding of the technical areas identified in the required skills above. Advanced degree in above noted disciplines and more than 10 years technical background in an RF/microwave communications, ISR systems, Photonics, or Radar related disciplines discipline is preferred.
