Our Case Assistant position supports the Co-Chair of our Economics and Damages practice and his team of international arbitration economists in BRG's New York office as well as Buenos Aires. The team is in the process of hiring and expanding and conducts business attending to disputes that involve many industries across many countries, including the majority of South American countries, several countries in Eastern Europe, Europe, and Africa and the Middle East. The ideal candidate is a professional who takes initiative, is flexible and enjoys working in a results-driven, entrepreneurial and global environment. The individual should exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, with strong written and verbal communication, administrative and organizational skills. The Case Assistant should have the ability to work independently on projects from conception to completion, periodically work under pressure and handle a wide variety of activities and confidential matters with discretion.

Develop a strong partnership with and understanding of the work of the Managing Director and the associated team and be an engaged, sophisticated facilitator of their effectiveness in executing practice goals.
Provide support for the practice activities with the ability to broadly understand the context and requirements of their work and provide a bridge for smooth communication and coordination of activities within the team.
Understand the business and the team, contribute to efficient allocation of resources and responsibilities, handle day-to-day project allocation and liaise with clients as a point-person for inquiries.
Understand the client base, pipeline of projects and assist with activities related to acquiring clients including research, meeting coordination, marketing support and overall proposal preparation.
Support the practice with various client interactions including set up of new matters, client/partner correspondence and meetings plus billing and collection.
Display a high degree of discretion with sophisticated abilities to recognize and handle sensitive and highly confidential information in an appropriate and compliant manner.
Arrange meetings and other contacts (external and internal) between clients (and other external parties), BRG leadership and/or other BRG team members. This work often involves an international component and/or accommodating multiple time zones.
Provide meeting logistics support including coordinating conference calls and other meeting technologies, meeting rooms, catering services, and other reservations as needed.
Coordinate business travel arrangements, both domestic and international, this may include obtaining visas, booking of accommodation, flights, car services, etc.
Handle time and expense reporting, including occasional currency exchange related tasks.
Education: Bachelor's degree preferred
Minimum of 1 year of support experience, preferably in a professional services setting such as consulting, legal or accounting. Previous experience in organizations with global presence preferred. Technical savvy is key - intermediate to advanced computer skills required in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders, including executive team, experts, staff and other external partners
