Summary: Our software teams employ an Agile Scrum methodology to rapidly design, implement, and integrate capabilities into a mature common services platform to include a general-purpose data analytics platform using the Hadoop ecosystem, GOTS, and COTS software solutions, and a PaaS (platform as a service) solution for rapid capability deployment. Work includes developing, leveraging, and integrating applications that provision loosely coupled systems and capabilities which can be reused, discovered, and linked to rapidly build and deploy new capabilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, implement, and integrate software that powers infrastructure services to support data mediation, orchestration and machine-to-machine messaging.
  • Integrate multi-functional applications into container-based support services.
  • Write and review well designed, testable, and efficient code that meets technical requirements.
  • Participate in a highly collaborative team environment, contributing to all phases of the development life-cycle using Agile/SCRUM methodologies.
  • Assist in the troubleshooting of code/infrastructure defects and deployment of timely fixes.
  • Deliver projects on time and with attention to quality, scalability, security, and compliance.
  • Document code and processes, utilizing government identified configuration management tools.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
  • At least two years of experience to include software design, development, test, and evaluation.
  • Current security clearance (Interim Secret or above).
  • Hands on experience with RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
  • Ability to program in Java and fluency in some server-side scripting language (Python preferred).
  • Experience with relational and non-relational databases.
  • Experience with real-time data processing (e.g. Kafka, Storm).
  • Experience with PaaS or server-less products (OpenShift, Docker, AWS, virtualization).
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with all levels of business users and management.
  • Ability to work individually and on team projects in an environment of teamwork and cooperation.
  • Effective written, oral, and presentation skills.
  • Pursuant to the various government contractual requirements, all applicants must be U.S. Citizens.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with components of the Hadoop ecosystem (HDFS, Storm, Spark, etc.) to include installation, configuration, administration, integration, and implementation of dataflows.
  • Experience leveraging tools such as Ansible, Maven, Jenkins, Git, RobotFramework, Selenium, and Agile methodologies to achieve continuous integration/deployment.
  • Experience implementing and leveraging RESTful APIs.
  • Familiarity with application deployment platforms such as JBoss, Tomcat, and OpenShift.
