Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Produce & revise plans, elevations, sections & details for tendered.
  2. Occasionally produces fabrication and tag drawings utilizing information contained in the shop drawings, mainly for mock ups and prototypes.
  3. Produce 3D models & renderings.
  4. Review bid documents for design conformance.
  5. Provide liaison with structural engineer.
  6. Aides engineering staff in understanding design concepts for projects.
  7. Coordinates with Estimating department to provide pricing data.
  8. Interfaces with suppliers & vendors to confirm feasibility of manufactures for new components.
  9. Attend design meetings with customers.
  10. Attend Benson training seminars for new employees & assist in answering questions.
  11. Other duties as assigned by management.
  12. Ability to meet strict deadlines.
  13. Attendance in the office during normal business hours.

  1. Proficient in AutoCAD 2017 and MS Office.
  2. Ability to understand architectural and structural drawings.
  3. Math skills involving trigonometry are required.
  4. Effective personnel interaction and communication skills to deal effectively with Job Captains and Management.

  1. A minimum 2 year degree and/or related business experience and knowledge required.
  2. At least two years’ work experience as a production drafter in Engineering, architecture, construction or a related field.

Office Hours: Monday through Friday
