Job Description

The City of Aspen is Hiring for a Communications Director.

The ideal candidate for Communications Director will have a visionary and tactical mindset and experience leading a cohesive communication strategy. This role will proactively build partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. The position is responsible for City of Aspen brand management, community engagement initiatives, public relations, departmental management, and emergency management.

This role demonstrates an emphasis on quality, the ability to collaborate with others, and represent dependability and reliability within the City Manager's office. The City of Aspen Manager's Office represents the administrative leadership of the organization and is comprised of City Manager elected by City Council, Assistant City Manager, Public Works Director, Administrative Services Director, and related support staff. The Communications Director works under the direct supervision of the Administrative Services Director, and exercises supervision over the communications staff.
