 Job Title:   Quality Engineer – Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) / Supplier Development Engineer (SDE)
QuEST Global (Engineering) Services seeks candidates in fields of Aerospace Quality Engineering and Supplier Quality based out of our Windsor, Connecticut office. Applicants will serve in the role of Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) / Supplier Development Engineer (SDE) as it pertains to completion of various technical / quality / delivery and administrative tasks for the United Technologies Corporation / Aerospace Systems Division (UTAS) supply chain.
 
Essential Job Functions:
Candidate will guide and assist UTAS suppliers in the completion of the UTAS purchase order from part initiation through development, production and final delivery.  Additional support may be required for any subsequent part revisions or changes in the manufacturing process. In addition applicant will be required to drive suppliers to achieve desired metrics in both:   “Quality” (reduction of escapes and PPM) and “Delivery” (improvement to on-time delivery metrics)
 
Applications should have familiarity with the following:
 
Basic Quality / Delivery Concepts:

  • Quality Planning
  • Relentless Root Cause and Corrective Action (RRCCA)
  • Statistical Process Control (SPC)
  • Gauging and measurement systems
  • Failure Mode Effect and Analysis (FMEA)
  • Mistake Proofing (Poke-Yoke)
  • Process Certification
  • Production capacity analysis
  • First Article Inspection and acceptance
  • Value Stream Mapping
  • Kaizen Events
  • Auditing to various specification requirements

 
Basic Engineering Concepts:

  • Blueprint reading and comprehension
  • Revision Controls and concepts
  • Configuration Management
  • Specification and technical reading and evaluation
  • Key Characteristics implementation
  • Process flow charting
  • Process control planning
  • Familiarity with basic manufacturing processes
  • Design for manufacturability
  • Special process controls
  • Non-Destructive testing techniques
  • Material mechanical/spectroscopic analysis and certifications

 
Qualifications:
7+ year’s relevant experience in Quality/Manufacturing/Industrial/Supply Chain Engineering
            5+ years in the Aerospace domain preferred
BS in Engineering or technical field. 
Other degrees may be considered based on additional relevant experience
 
Certifications not required but preferred:

  • ASQ CQE
  • Six Sigma belt
  • AS9100 Rev D

  • Flexibility to adapt to meet and exceed customer demands and expectations

  • Basic MS Office and Abode Products familiarity (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

 
 
 
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
Office and shop floor environments
Service oriented: Must be able to meet multiple commitments for QuEST’s customers
Common activities include sitting, walking and standing
Substantial amount of telephone and computer work
Heavily Regulated Industries with strict adherence to procedures.
Flexibility to meet business deadlines by staying late or arriving early.
Typical 8 hour days plus lunch / 40 hour weeks / core (required) hours are 9 AM to 4 PM
Ability to use personal transportation to visit customer locations.
