The Town of Cheshire, Massachusetts is seeking a high energy, positive, well-organized, and qualified individual to fill a Coordinator of Activities and Volunteers position with the Cheshire Council on Aging. This position will develop and implement activity and volunteer programs that are designed to promote and enhance the self-image and/or improve or maintain the functioning level of participants under the general supervision of the Town Administrator, unless directed otherwise by the Town Administrator. This position performs varied and responsible duties that require initiative and independent judgment in conducting service programs, supervising volunteers, and assisting and supporting participants. As this position works primarily with elder citizens, compassion and empathy are essential. A considerable amount of outreach work is necessary for the successful applicant.
Applicant should possess an Associate's Degree plus work related experience demonstrating the ability to perform outlined activities or any combination of education and experience. Applicant should have skill in various office computer programs, experience in social media, and the ability to work with new technology.
