Job Description




ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:




Assess and provide care for all segments of the patient population
served by our facility.?




Administer all therapies ordered by the physician staff and complete
necessary documentation of said therapy.




Perform any diagnostic testing offered by the department.




Perform Quality Control and Proficiency Testing in accordance with
department policy.




Respond to both patient care emergency situations and the hospital?s
emergency action plan.




Complete inspection, maintenance, and restocking of supplies and
equipment as requested by their Manager.




Performs other duties as requested by their manager.

Functions:




Active participant in the hospital?s Continuing Quality Improvement
process.




Assist in the monitoring of patient satisfaction measures and work
towards obtaining goals.




Active participant in the hospital?s patient education process.




Assist in the development of new department policies/procedures and
the review of existing policies.




Serve on hospital teams and committees as needed.

Scheduled Hours per 2 week Pay Period: 80

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS
AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
:




Graduate of an approved Respiratory therapy training program.




Credentialed by the National Board for Respiratory Care.




Licensed by the State of Iowa as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.




Must maintain Basic Life Support certification.




ACLS, NRP, and PALS certifications are highly encouraged.




Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to
population served within three months of hire and recertify every five years.




Failure to obtain and/or maintain the above required certifications
may result in disciplinary action including suspension and/or termination of
employment.
