Job Description: Raytheon’s Mechanical Engineering Directorate (MED) provides engineering design, integration and production to a wide range of hardware in Raytheon’s Integrated Defense Systems (IDS). The Platform Integration Department leads mechanical design, development and integration of platform systems. This includes shelter systems, hardware integration, cable & interconnections, as well as facility development & site integration. The department is comprised of individuals with technical expertise and experience in hardware design, integration and production support. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Work with limited supervision and meet commitments for assigned schedule, financial, and technical goals. Mechanical design and documentation of Patriot hardware and systems Factory and supplier support of product integration domestically and internationally Interface with other engineering disciplines and non-technical disciplines and interface with suppliers to resolve technical issues. Support development, evaluation and analysis of mechanical designs. Apply knowledge and experience of mechanical engineering skills and technologies into hardware designs. Note: This position can be a G08 or G09 based on the candidate’s qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position. U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Required Skills: Four (4) years of experience in a Mechanical Engineering role with minimum one (1) year designing equipment for the for use in Military environments Previous experience includes concept definition through detailed design and transition to production and production support. Experience with mechanical applications, material selection, and processes Experience with PDM or similar product data management tool Existing US Secret level security clearance or the ability to obtain one Desired Skills: Willingness to travel (domestic and international) Excellent communication, technical writing oral presentation, and interpersonal skills Working knowledge of Military and Commercial Specifications Experience in design, fabrication, and integration of Electronics Assemblies and/or Shelter Assemblies Knowledge in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing Advanced problem solving skills Experience using CREO CAD design and documentation tools Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word/Excel/Power Point/Project) Experience with current manufacturing systems and processes Reliability or failure analysis experience Desire and ability to work in a fast paced production environment Ability to work collaboratively in an Integrated Product Team environment, interfacing with other engineers, Operations, Integrated Supply Chain, Quality, IPT Leadership, Program Managers, and Customers Able to work well with people and achieve results with a minimum of conflicts and within schedule Previous experience includes adaptability and willingness to work varying assignments Demonstrated team player, with excellent collaboration skills Team leadership; experience leading a multi-disciplined, technical team with the ability to develop, empower, motivate and monitor the team.
