Position Summary The Senior Youth Care Worker teaches skills and monitors youth behavior according to an individualized service plan. This position also provides support and mentoring to Youth Care Workers. Also acts as a Parent trainer facilitating 3 classes per year, which occur in the evenings. The classes are 6-7 weeks long, 1 night/week, for 2 hours each. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS : High school diploma or equivalent. Must be at least 21 years of age. 2 years of experience working with at risk youth; Boys Town Model experience preferred. Must possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record and pass an annual Motor Vehicle Registration (MVR) check. Classroom training experience Bilingual differential available for fluently speaking, reading & writing Spanish & English Knowledge of regulatory requirements pertaining to youth care. Ability to communicate in an articulate, professional manner while maintaining necessary degree of confidentiality. Ability to build and sustain trust to facilitate successful, professional relationships. Ability to quickly make decisions in sensitive and sometimes critical areas and to adapt responses to situations while maintaining procedural and regulatory integrity.
