OVERVIEW OF JOB The Supervisor of Development Support manages and coordinates the compilation and maintenance of factual information on donors within the Donor Database. This position also supervises a team of associates engaged in donor research and provides backup for key positions in the department. Assigns, coordinates, reviews, and conducts in-depth research on individuals, corporations and foundations. Evaluates new research tools and emerging technologies; coordinates vendor relations with these products and manages the contracts of each subscription. Manages the Event Module of the Donor Database and acts as subject matter expert to provide guidance and training to end users including affiliate sites. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Knowledge and familiarity with research techniques for fundraising prospect research. Proficiency in Internet research and with information resource subscriptions and publications is required including fundraising databases, on-line services (ex. Lexus Nexus / Clear / Morning Star / Hoovers). Must have strong service orientation and commitment to assisting others with enthusiasm and professionalism. Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word. Ability to communicate at all levels within the organization and with external contacts in an articulate, professional manner while maintaining necessary degree of confidentiality. Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and multi-task while maintaining quality standards. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree or equivalent. 2 to 3 years of related work experience; fundraising training through professional association preferred; experience with the Donor Database/Blackbaud. CRM software programs experience preferred.
